Sushi is very fresh with great flavor. Their salmon belly is delicious. The size of the sashimi pieces are larger than most sushi places I’ve been but their prices are a bit higher. I wanted to try the uni but they didn’t have it that day; looking forward to trying it out next time. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.

We've been looking for our spot, and I think we found it! Sushi was 5 stars, service was 5 stars. Atmosphere was decent-- the only thing negative I would mention, is that the counter tops were extremely sticky, some sort of residue buildup, I did my best to not even touch it.

Not sure how I’ve gone so long without reviewing, but Sakatomo is by far and away the best sushi restaurant in the area. I’m not even a sushi lover, but the care they put into their craft is obvious. The chicken tempura roll is my favorite…with the gyoza a close second. Beyond the food, the staff is always friendly. The manager even remembers me, and I appreciate her greeting every guest with a smile. 10/10, would recommend.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Not just great sushi, but special presentation! I had the Mango Tempura Shrimp and it was amazing. Tried one of the tuna rainbow pieces and the tuna was so fresh and beautiful. Is like to come back!

This is, by far, some of the best sushi/sashimi you can find in Hampton Roads. The service is outstanding, staff are so friendly. I can't recommend it enough! I feel like we found a diamond in the rough ❤️
